Can You Still Remember Me?by ~SmellsLikeBeer

So, the last drawing was so damn colorful, I wanted to draw something just black&white this time. A5 Indian ink and cross-hatching. Just like always.

So this one is the first part of the "Can you still remember me" series, that I'm starting right now. But there's probably going to be just two parts. So one down, one to go. In fact, I already have another idea for new series of drawings, probably going to make that happen after I have finished this one.

Anyway, I'm not really into this dragon stuff. I mean those big mean ones. But Spike is still one of my favorite characters so I gave it a shot. It always makes me wonder, you know, now Spike is just a baby, but in the time when he's fully grown up, he might be totally alone. Or I mean that I've always imagined that dragons are in a way immortal. So Spike's gonna continue growing up, and watching all his friends getting older and finally passing away, until there's no-one he actually knows. And what is he going to do then? I can imagine him leaving into solitude, to the other side of the mountains. Alone.

Love it. The solitary emotion is captured very well in this one. Immortality sucks. Like most mortals, your born, you live, you feel, you love, but unlike mortals, you don't die. The mortals you befriended and loved whither and fade all around you

then die...

I imagine he would become a protector of canterlot and ponyville, without Twi or the elements of harmony spike and the princesses are the only real protection these ponies have. But i do see your point about spike leaving into solitude, i guess this would make him a silent protector

Personally i think he will eventually get over and find a nice dragon lady for himself.
I don't believe in this RarityXSpike ship for the sole reason: he's a baby dragon and she's an adult (or at least old enough) pony. Besides, it's cute as a childhood crash and all but i don't like certain undertones of it. Also imho he will have to learn how to be a dragon and may even teach other dragons something good. Cultural revolution for dragons ? Why not?
